Description

Embark on a memorable journey through the heart of Spanish wine history: the prestigious Designations of Origin of Rueda, Ribera del Duero, and Toro. This six-day private tour is a complete immersion in the tradition and avant-garde of Castile and León.

Discover the elegance and freshness of Verdejo white wines from Rueda, the intensity and nobility of red wines from the “Golden Mile” of Ribera del Duero, and the bold character of Tinta de Toro. You will enjoy exclusive visits to historic and contemporary wineries, as well as tastings led by experts. A wine route designed for the true wine lover.

The itinerary is as follows:

Day 1, Tuesday:

In the morning, private transfer from Madrid to the first winery you will visit in Rueda. Journey time: approximately 1 hour 55 minutes.

Visit to the first winery, where you will be welcomed in the vineyard, followed by a tour of the most emblematic facilities and a guided tasting of three iconic Verdejo wines that showcase the fresh and pure character of this variety.

Near Rueda, we recommend a short stop to visit the village of Medina del Campo, where you can admire the imposing silhouette of La Mota Castle, one of the most emblematic fortresses in Castile, which offers a fascinating historical perspective.

Lunch on your own (at your own expense).

We suggest having lunch in Rueda to enjoy the local cuisine. Rueda is considered the heart of the designation of origin, a town with a deep wine-making tradition where you can find traditional Castilian cuisine that pairs perfectly with the local white wine.

In the afternoon, transfer to visit the second winery in the Rueda Designation of Origin, culminating in a tasting of three wines.

Transfer to the 4* hotel located in the Ribera del Duero region to check-in for three nights. Accommodation in a double standard room with breakfast included.

Breakfast at the hotel.

In the morning, before visit to the first winery, we recommend making a brief photo stop at the Peñafiel Castle viewpoint, a medieval fortress built in the 10th century, to take in the wonderful views of the Ribera del Duero landscape. Enjoy panoramic views of the Duero River valley and the extensive vineyards that characterize the region, famous for its wines. The castle, with its impressive elongated structure and strategic location, provides a privileged view of the surroundings, as well as a unique insight into the history and wine culture of the area.

Optional, not included: Guided tour of Peñafiel Castle and free admission to the Provincial Wine Museum.

Transfer to a prestigious winery for a gastronomic experience. You will enjoy a tour of the winery, a tasting of three of its wines, and a traditional lunch at the winery you visit. The menu includes: starters, first course, lamb with salad, and dessert.

Transfer to the second winery you will visit today.

You can admire the imposing Castle of Peñaranda de Duero and the Palace of the Counts of Miranda.

Transfer to visit a traditional family winery, one of the founders of the Ribera de Duero D.O. You can stroll through its vineyard, learn about the wine-making process and descend into its 16th-century underground cellars, excavated in the mountain. The experience will end with a tasting of three wines that pay tribute to history.
