Sirmione is a charming village located on a peninsula that juts out into the southern end of the majestic Lake Garda. It is an important tourist center, known for its relaxed atmosphere and great natural beauty.

Its entrance is dominated by the imposing Scaligero Castle, a 13th-century medieval fortress surrounded by a moat. At the tip of the peninsula are the Grottoes of Catullus (Grotte di Catullo), the spectacular ruins of an ancient Roman villa offering privileged views of the lake.
